Role and Purpose
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining websites, web applications and e-learning platforms ensuring they are functional, secure and user-friendly. They will be required to collaborate with teams in Ireland and across Europe to implement features, troubleshoot issues and continuously improve performance and usability. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to take on challenges and changing priorities and will be eager to learn new processes and technology to broaden their scope of responsibilities and their ability to work independently.
We have one (1) full-time position on offer.
Main duties will include:
- Ability to design and implement technical specifications for EU project websites and e-learning platforms based on the outlined project proposals and requirements.
- Build front-end interfaces and/or back-end services depending on specialisation
- Integrate third-party APIs and services
- Implement CMS-driven websites (e.g. WordPress, Learndash, etc.)
- Debug and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks
- Optimise applications for speed, SEO and scalability
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (i.e. WCAG 2.2)
- Maintain and update existing websites and applications
- Produce technical documentation and user guides as required
- Work with designers and project managers to realise project deliverables
- Be able to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
Required experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with WordPress development and administration
- Experience developing websites of various scales in CMS tools
- Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins
- Experience working with and implementing internationalisation onto WordPress websites (including translation in EU languages)
- Good understanding of design principles and user experience
- Knowledge of standard website development concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to multi-task and plan proactively; accomplish goals in a timely manner as per given deadlines
- Demonstrate strong oral/written communication and listening skills
- Working knowledge in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Proficiency in presenting information and work completed to end users and project partners
- Ability to demonstrate close attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Have demonstratable experience in creating usable, visually appealing and functional websites on a variety of topics
Preferred experience
- Experience working with Elementor
- Experience working with Genially
- Experience working with hosting websites and the use of FTP
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in a related Information Technology field highly desirable (including UX and web design).
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time contract up to 31st July 2028 subject to the satisfactory completion of a probation period. The nature of the work may require EU travel as the scope of our work at European level. Please note that we operate a compressed 4-day working week and all positions are based in Virginia, Co. Cavan.
The annual leave entitlement is twenty-five (25) days per annum, pro-rata for shorter periods. Entitlement to leave for Public Holidays is in accordance with the terms of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. Future in Perspective is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
