Paul Byron Shoes is one of Ireland's leading footwear retailers, committed to delivering quality, value and fashion to customers nationwide. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused and commercially minded Assistant Manager to join our Mullingar store.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the store, leading and motivating the team, driving sales performance, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered.
In the absence of the Store Manager, you will take responsibility for the running of the store and act as a key point of contact for staff and customers.

Support the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store.

Lead, motivate and develop team members to achieve individual and store goals.

Assist with staff induction, training and ongoing development.

Promote a positive, professional and customer-focused culture.

Support rostering, absence management and holiday planning.

Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Deliver exceptional customer service and lead by example on the shop floor.

Support staff in providing expert product knowledge and footwear advice.

Handle customer queries, complaints and returns professionally.

Ensure a welcoming, friendly and engaging shopping experience for all customers.

Support the achievement of store sales targets and KPIs.

Monitor daily and weekly performance and identify opportunities to grow sales.

Drive product knowledge and commercial awareness within the team.

Assist with merchandising and promotional activities.

Assist with stock control, stock accuracy and stockroom organisation.

Support stock deliveries, replenishment and inventory management.

Monitor product availability and communicate stock requirements.

Ensure high standards of store presentation and housekeeping.

Open and close the store when required.

Ensure cash handling procedures and company policies are followed.

Support daily reconciliation processes and store security procedures.

Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and customers.

Support click-and-collect services and online order fulfilment.

Assist customers with online purchases where required.

Help manage online returns and customer collections efficiently.

Previous experience in a retail supervisory, senior sales or management role.
