Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Worldwide Public Sector ISV Partner Solutions Architecture team. In this role, you will serve as the embedded technical partner for strategic ISV partners in the security and intelligence domain whose development teams are headquartered in Dublin and the broader EMEA region. Your primary mission: help these partners build, modernize, and scale their solutions on AWS — driving architecture quality, accelerating product roadmap delivery, and enabling joint go-to-market motions that create value for public sector customers worldwide.
This is a builder-oriented role. You will work directly alongside partner engineering teams on architecture design, solution modernization, and hands-on integration with AWS services. You will translate partner product roadmaps into AWS-native architectures, identify opportunities for service adoption, and serve as the technical bridge between ISV R&D organizations and AWS product/specialist teams.
Ability to travel within EMEA (~30%) for partner site visits and customer engagements.
Must be a citizen of the EU with work authorization.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary AWS technical resource embedded with ISV partner development teams in Dublin/EMEA, providing architecture guidance, code-level integration support, and solution design for security and intelligence workloads.
- Conduct architecture reviews and Well-Architected assessments on partner solutions, identifying optimization opportunities across cost, reliability, performance, and security pillars.
- Drive solution modernization initiatives — helping partners containerize, adopt serverless patterns, integrate AI/ML capabilities (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker), and leverage managed services to reduce undifferentiated heavy lifting.
- Support sovereign cloud and restricted environment deployments (EU Sovereign) by providing architectural guidance on data residency, compliance frameworks, and regional service availability.
- Enable partner go-to-market readiness including AWS Marketplace listing optimization, consulting partner onboarding, APN competency and program enrollment.
A day in the life
- You spend your morning in a design session with a partner engineering team, whiteboarding a migration from monolithic on-prem DLP architecture to a containerized, event-driven pattern on ECS/EKS with S3 and Lambda.
- After lunch, you join a cross-functional call with AWS storage specialists to resolve an FSx configuration for a partner workload that requires specific IOPS in a restricted compliance boundary.
- You draft a section of a joint reference architecture document showing how a partner’s threat intelligence platform integrates with Amazon Bedrock for agentic AI workflows.
- You check in with your counterpart PAM on upcoming customer meetings where the partner’s solution will be positioned, and prepare a technical deep-dive slide for the session.
- You close the day reviewing a partner’s Marketplace listing for architectural accuracy and completeness before their compliance certification submission.
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
- Hands-on experience with modern application architectures: containers (ECS/EKS/Docker), serverless (Lambda), event-driven patterns, and microservices.
- Familiarity with AI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker) and emerging patterns (RAG, agentic workflows, MCP integrations)
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Familiarity with AI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker) and emerging patterns (RAG, agentic workflows, MCP integrations).
