The Senior Executive Technician is a key support position within the Council and may be assigned to a service delivery or functional area as required. The post holder will be responsible for leading one or more teams and providing technical and management support across a range of local authority service areas. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the implementation of work programmes and the achievement of goals, targets and standards set out in departmental and unit operational plans.
The role will involve liaising with external agencies, stakeholders and elected members, supporting the democratic functions of the Council, and contributing to the effective delivery of services and projects. The Senior Executive Technician will be expected to demonstrate initiative, work to a high professional standard, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
The responsibilities for this role will include providing technical expertise and management support in the planning, design and delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Positions may arise in any area of the Council's functions, including Planning, Environment, Roads and Housing. The successful candidate will work under the direction and control of a Line Manager designated by the Director of Services or the Chief Executive.
