We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day facilities, maintenance and site services at our Tyre Recycling facility in Lullymore site in Co. Kildare.
The successful candidate will ensure that the site is maintained to a high standard, operates safely and efficiently, and provides a clean, secure and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and customers.
This is a site based supervisory role, requiring strong organisational skills, practical problem-solving ability and the confidence to coordinate contractors, maintenance activities and site services.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Maintenance
- Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the site, buildings, grounds and facilities.
- Carry out regular inspections and identify maintenance, repair and improvement requirements.
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance and respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections and repairs.
- Ensure utilities, plant, equipment and site infrastructure are operating effectively.
- Coordinate minor repairs and maintenance works, carrying out practical tasks where appropriate.
- Manage site presentation, cleanliness and general upkeep to a consistently high standard.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the site.
- Ensure facilities and maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, company policies and site procedures.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of risk assessments, safe systems of work and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and servicing of relevant equipment and systems.
- Maintain appropriate compliance and maintenance documentation.
- Identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
Contractors & Suppliers
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers working on site.
- Ensure contractors follow site safety procedures and provide appropriate documentation before commencing work.
- Obtain quotations where required and support the management of facilities-related expenditure.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality of work and completion of agreed tasks.
- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and service providers.
Grounds & Site Operations
- Oversee the maintenance and presentation of outdoor areas, access routes, car parks and general grounds.
- Coordinate seasonal requirements such as landscaping, weather-related maintenance and gritting where necessary.
- Support waste management, recycling and environmental initiatives on site.
- Assist with site security, access arrangements and general operational requirements.
Team Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate facilities/maintenance staff and allocate daily tasks.
- Set clear priorities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Provide guidance and practical support to team members.
- Assist with staff training and the development of good maintenance and facilities practices.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, building services or site-supervisory role.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating contractors and external service providers.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a workplace environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- Good IT and administrative skills, including maintaining records and managing maintenance schedules.
- A full, clean driving licence.
Desirable:
- Relevant technical, facilities, construction or engineering qualification.
- Experience managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Knowledge of environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications.

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
