About Us
Hotel Killarney, a newly refurbished and award-winning 4-star hotel, is currently recruiting for an experienced, motivated and dynamic Food & Beverage Manager to join our senior management team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to take responsibility for the overall Food & Beverage operation across The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, The Sloe Berry Bar and Lily’s Coffee Dock.
Food & Beverage is a key part of the Hotel Killarney guest experience, and we are looking for a confident and hands-on leader who can drive exceptional service standards, develop high-performing teams, maximise revenue and ensure the smooth and profitable operation of all our outlets.
The Role
As Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the hotel's Food & Beverage operation, ensuring consistently high standards of service, guest experience, team performance and profitability.
You will lead, support and develop the Food & Beverage team across The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, The Sloe Berry Bar and Lily’s Coffee Dock, working closely with the Head Chef and wider senior management team to ensure excellent communication, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
The successful candidate will be a confident and approachable leader who can motivate teams, remain calm under pressure, make effective decisions and lead by example during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the Food & Beverage team, managing rostering, staffing, training, performance and deployment across all outlets.
- Oversee the daily operation of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, The Sloe Berry Bar and Lily’s Coffee Dock, ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation and guest experience.
- Drive revenue, profitability and operational efficiency through upselling, promotions, events and effective management of departmental targets.
- Manage purchasing, stock control, ordering, wastage and supplier relationships, ensuring strong cost management.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, health & safety, licensing requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate use of Alkimii and Simphony EPOS, alongside effective reporting and financial controls.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve service standards, team performance, efficiency and overall Food & Beverage operations.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and wider senior management team to ensure strong communication and alignment with the hotel's operational and commercial objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' proven experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant F&B Manager or senior Food & Beverage management role within a busy hotel or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent knowledge of restaurant, bar and café operations, with experience managing multiple outlets
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience in revenue generation, cost control and achieving departmental targets
- Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- A hands-on approach with a willingness to lead from the floor
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Hospitality or Food & Beverage management qualifications are an advantage
