About Us
Solar PV Solutions International is a growing renewable-energy company specialising in domestic and commercial Solar PV installations throughout Ireland.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a fully qualified in-house electrician to take a leading, hands-on role in the installation, commissioning, certification and sign-off of our Solar PV systems.
Previous Solar PV experience is preferred; however, it is not essential for an experienced Qualified Certifier with strong electrical knowledge and a willingness to undertake specialist Solar PV training.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, field-based position offering excellent earning potential and an opportunity to play an important role in the growth of our company.
You will lead the electrical aspects of domestic and commercial Solar PV installations, certify completed work and ensure that every installation meets the highest standards of safety, workmanship and regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with our surveyors, project managers, roof installation teams and other electricians. For the right candidate, there is potential to progress into a broader leadership position, overseeing electrical standards and mentoring other members of the team.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation and Commissioning
- Lead the electrical work on domestic and commercial Solar PV installations.
- Install and commission inverters, battery storage systems, isolators, consumer-unit connections and associated electrical equipment.
- Carry out testing, fault-finding and system commissioning.
- Confirm that completed systems are operating safely and correctly.
- Assist with technical assessments and provide practical input into system design where required.
Compliance, Testing and Certification
- Act as the Qualified Certifier and signing-off electrician for completed installations.
- Inspect, test, certify and sign off electrical work in accordance with Irish regulations.
- Complete all required certification and compliance documentation accurately and promptly.
- Ensure installations meet Safe Electric, SEAI and relevant Solar PV requirements.
- Maintain clear and accurate records for every completed project.
Technical Support and Problem-Solving
- Diagnose and resolve electrical or system-performance issues.
- Provide technical guidance to installation teams and project managers.
- Support the development of safe, efficient and consistent installation procedures.
- Assist with after-sales technical support and remedial work when required.
Health, Safety and Quality
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and final quality inspections.
- Identify and report safety, compliance or workmanship concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment on every site.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and accountability.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with customers, surveyors, project managers, roofers and electrical installation teams.
- Communicate clearly with customers when explaining system operation and electrical work.
- Provide timely updates regarding project progress, technical challenges and completion.
- Represent Solar PV Solutions International professionally at all times.
- Mentor and support other electricians as the installation team grows.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified electrician with a recognised Irish qualification, such as QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical, or an equivalent qualification recognised in Ireland.
- Qualified Certifier status with the authority and ability to inspect, certify and sign off electrical installations.
- Strong knowledge of current Irish electrical regulations and Safe Electric requirements.
- Excellent testing, fault-finding and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary installation team.
- Full, clean Irish driving licence.
- Willingness to travel daily and occasionally stay overnight for projects when required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience installing domestic or commercial Solar PV systems.
- Experience with hybrid inverters, battery storage systems and system-monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with SEAI-supported Solar PV installations and associated documentation.
- Experience leading installation teams or mentoring other electricians.
Solar PV experience is highly desirable, but appropriate training may be provided to an experienced Qualified Certifier who has the necessary electrical expertise and a strong interest in renewable-energy systems.
Salary and Benefits
- Basic salary: €78,000–€88,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Permanent, full-time employment with a growing renewable-energy company.
- 20 days of annual leave, consisting of 15 flexible days and five fixed days during the Christmas period.

Working Hours
Typical working hours are approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The position is field-based, and travel to and from project sites forms part of the role. Most work will be located in Dublin and surrounding counties, as well as Monaghan, Cavan, Louth, Meath, Westmeath and Kildare. Some projects may require travel to other parts of Ireland and occasional overnight stays.
