About Gorey School of English
Gorey School of English is a new language school in Gorey, Co. Wexford, part of an international education group, which specialises in language immersion programmes, academic-year placements and student experiences. As we launch in Ireland, we are looking for an energetic, organised and student-focused professional to lead our activities programme and support the smooth day-to-day running of the school. This is a permanent, full-time, year-round position.
The Role
As Activity Leader & Operations Coordinator, you will plan and deliver our student activities programme while providing hands-on operational support to the School Director. It is a varied, fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, thrives on coordination, and wants to grow within a fast-growing international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Activities Programme
- Plan, organise and deliver the weekly programme of on-site and off-site activities in line with the school's standards and student profile.
- Coordinate activity logistics, timings and supervision, ensuring every activity is safe, engaging and well run.
- Manage activity materials and basic logistical requirements.
Coordination of Activity Leaders
- Provide day-to-day coordination and support to the rest of Activity Leaders.
- Help allocate duties and activity rotas in coordination with the School Director.
- Act as the on-the-ground reference point for Activity Leaders during activities and excursions, reporting operational issues as they arise.
Operational Support to the School Director
- Assist the School Director with daily operational tasks.
- Support student arrivals, departures and logistics.
- Act as an operational link between the activities team and school management, providing cover during busy periods or staff absences.
Student Welfare & Emergency Cover
- Contribute to student welfare and wellbeing during activities and free time.
- Participate actively in the school's safeguarding framework.
- Provide 24-hour emergency on-call cover on a rota basis (typically one week on / one week off) and respond to out-of-hours emergencies in line with established procedures.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain clear communication with the School Director on activities, incidents and staffing needs.
- Report any incidents, safeguarding concerns or operational issues promptly.
- Provide feedback to support the continuous improvement of the activities programme.
What We're Looking For
- A proactive, well-organised person with strong coordination and communication skills.
- Experience in activity leadership, youth work, education, hospitality or a similar people-facing role (desirable).
- Comfortable working with young people and committed to student welfare and safeguarding.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and to take part in the on-call rota during peak periods.
- A full driving licence is an advantage.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Pay: €22,000.00-€26,000.00 per year
