Southern Tyre Recycling are seeking an experienced and reliable Plant Machinery Operator to join their tyre recycling facility in Lullymore, County Kildare. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our tyre processing activities, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and operation of plant equipment.
This is a hands-on position requiring experience operating a variety of heavy plant machinery and recycling equipment within an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 360° Excavator for loading, unloading, sorting and processing tyre materials.
- Operate a Teleporter for material handling and stock management.
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift for loading and unloading vehicles and moving materials throughout the facility.
- Operate and monitor tyre screening and shredding plant equipment.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine inspections on all machinery.
- Ensure plant and machinery are operated safely and efficiently at all times.
- Assist with material handling, stockpile management and yard housekeeping.
- Report equipment defects, breakdowns or safety concerns promptly.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Support maintenance activities and plant shutdowns when required.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation as required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating heavy plant machinery in a recycling, waste management, quarrying, construction or industrial environment.
- Valid and current certification/tickets for:
- 360° Excavator
- Teleporter
- Counterbalance Forklift
- Experience operating screening and/or shredding equipment.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within the recycling or waste management industry.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks.
- Additional plant machinery tickets or certifications.
- First Aid, Manual Handling or Safepass certification.
Pay: €20.00 per hour
