Finance Business Partner CDTO
This role will report to the Manager Finance Business Partnering – CDIO, Transformation and Investments and represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an inclusive team, working collaboratively across the business and wider IAG Group, in a hybrid working model.
The Finance Business Partner is a critical enabler of business and company performance, with responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, monthly performance management, and investment governance. The role will also support the delivery of cost initiatives and provide financial oversight across a significant programme of digital and transformation investment over the next three years. Please note that this is a FTC 18 month Contract covering Maternity Leave.
- Provide Finance Business Partner support to the executive and senior management in the Digital, IT and Transformation department.
- Responsible for budgets, forecasts and business plans (covering Capital Expenditure (“CAPEX”) and Operating Expenditure (“OPEX”) elements) for the business areas.
- Collaborate across functions to track initiatives and benefits, compiling and preparing reports for Aer Lingus Senior Management & Executive.
- Lead the review and challenge of business case benefits to ensure alignment with transformation targets and KPIs.
- Critically evaluate initiatives and investment proposals, providing robust financial assessment of costs, benefits and risks, ensuring consistency in assumptions, methodologies and rates across the business.
- Champion continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback and supporting the identification of new initiatives.
- Develop relationships and work alongside colleagues across the IAG Group in sharing information and best practice.
- Identify, track and support cost reduction initiatives and work with functional management to identify and implement synergies.
- Manage and own the pipeline of all project and programme spend (CAPEX and OPEX) in the Digital and IT areas.
- Support the monthly capitalisation process, ensure correct capitalisation of resources, reviewing project spend and liaising with project managers on project queries and monthly reporting.
To be considered for the role of Finance Business Partner CDTO, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience with ideally at least 2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Accounting experience in a finance function/related group reporting experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications combined with general proficiency in IT systems.
- A focus on continuous improvement in area of responsibility.
- Focused attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring excellent attention to detail & high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing & presentation skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
- Provide three verifiable references.
- Able to pass a five year security background check.
- Able to pass an aviation security vetting process, that includes an enhanced background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport as this position is based in Dublin.
