Fixed-Term Contract – Maternity Cover
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. This is opportunity for a dedicated nurse who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care and enjoys working in a busy general practice environment.
We are offering a temporary maternity cover position for 31 hours per week. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements and can consider different hour patterns to suit the successful candidate.
Previous experience in general practice is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with professional standards and practice policies.
- Carry out chronic disease management clinics, including asthma, COPD, diabetes, and cardiovascular monitoring.
- Administer vaccinations and immunisations in line with national guidelines.
- Perform cervical screening and women’s health services where appropriately qualified.
- Provide wound care, dressings, and suture removal.
- Support health screening programmes and preventative healthcare initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using the practice management system.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- Current annual registration with the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Comfortable using GP medical records software and standard IT systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
