We are seeking an experienced and motivated Setting Out Engineer to join our civil engineering and construction team in Galway.
Responsibilities
Set out civil engineering and construction works using Total Station, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks, and reference points.
Check levels, coordinates, dimensions, and alignment throughout the project.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey information.
Work closely with site managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
Carry out quality checks and maintain accurate site and survey records.
Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and report them to management.
Assist with site surveys, measurements, and as-built information.
Monitor setting out activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company site policies.
Requirements
Previous experience in a Setting Out Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar role.
Strong understanding of civil engineering construction and surveying principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
Practical experience using Total Station, GPS, and surveying equipment.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Relevant engineering, construction, or surveying qualification is desirable.
Full clean driving licence is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and safe working practices.
Pay: €44,504.45-€74,031.72 per year
