Inclusion & Community Leadership Project Officer

Full-Time | 35 Hours Per Week | €36,000 per annum | 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Wexford Volunteer Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Inclusion & Community Leadership Project Officer to lead the delivery of an exciting new programme supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to engage in volunteering, develop leadership skills and become active participants within their communities.
This innovative role will work directly with participants, community organisations and key stakeholders to create meaningful volunteering opportunities, leadership pathways and inclusive community engagement initiatives across County Wexford.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and support programme participants from refugee, asylum seeker and migrant communities.
- Deliver outreach activities, workshops and engagement events.
- Develop and coordinate Volunteer Ambassador and Peer Mentor pathways.
- Support participants into volunteering and leadership opportunities.
- Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders.
- Deliver training and support to volunteer-involving organisations.
- Monitor project progress and maintain programme records.
- Support the development of an Inclusion Toolkit and programme learning resources.
Essential Requirements
- Third-level qualification in community development, social sciences, youth work, social care, education or a related field, or significant relevant experience.
- Experience working with diverse communities.
- Experience delivering community-based projects, programmes, workshops or training.
- Excellent communication, organisational and report writing skills.
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable
- Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers or migrant communities.
- Experience in the voluntary and community sector.
- Experience in volunteer engagement or volunteer management.
- Knowledge of integration and community development issues.
