Dental Laboratory Technician - Permanent Full-Time
We are seeking to recruit a Dental Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Department in the Dental Dublin University Hospital. This is a permanent, whole-time position with 35 hours per week.
The position reports to and is accountable to the Dental Production Laboratory Manager or by any other authorised designated officer that the responsibility is delegated to by the Dental Production Laboratories Manager.
The role of the Dental Laboratory Technician includes, but is not limited to:
Meeting prescription requirements as indicated by the Dental Production Manager and clinical staff.
Ensuring that Medical Devices Directive and ISO 9001 requirements are met.
Providing advice and support to dental students when required.
Performing teaching duties as part of the Bachelor in Dental technology degree course as required.
Keeping up to date on current practices and industry developments.
Ensure that work is completed on time and to high quality standards.
To ensure the maintenance of satisfactory health and safety and hygiene standards.
Carry out administrative tasks when required.
Ensure the good condition of equipment and the Dental Production Laboratories i.e. plaster laboratory, casting/polishing laboratory and ceramics laboratory.
Ad hoc projects, as required.
The post holder will attend the following meetings and all other meetings as required.

Qualifications, Experience Person Specification
Each candidate must have:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Prosthetics, Orthodontics, Crown and Bridge and Implantology a similar setting.
A recognised qualification in Dental/Laboratory Technology.
Ability to produce high quality dental artefacts.
Be fully competent in MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, Email, Internet and other relevant packages.
Understand the role of Dental Laboratory Technician in the organisation.
Candidates must ideally:
Demonstrate a patient and student focused approach.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication ability.
Have proven organisational and administrative skills.
Have the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
