Graduate / APC Level Building Surveyor - North Dublin
Our client is a leading, multi-disciplinary practice providing premium residential and commercial property solutions across Dublin and the surrounding counties. Operating from a North Dublin office they have a team of experienced Surveyors. They can provide a structured, supportive, and practical environment designed to help early-career surveyors rapidly develop their skills and successfully achieve Chartership.
Role Overview
They are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Graduate through to APC-Level Building Surveyors to join our growing North Dublin team.
In this role, you will gain hands-on, diverse experience across both the residential and commercial sectors. Working directly alongside Directors and Senior Chartered Surveyors, you will be fully supported through the SCSI / RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) pathway, with access to diverse project work and structured mentorship to help you pass your diary and final assessment.
- Location: North Dublin with site travel.
- Salary: Competitive (Commensurate with experience) + APC support package.

Key Responsibilities
In tis role you will assist with and gradually take ownership of a broad range of building surveying instructions, including:
Professional & Technical Services
- Carrying out residential Pre-Purchase House Surveys and Homebuyer Surveys.
- Conducting detailed Snag Inspections and compiling comprehensive Snag List Reports for new-build residential developments.
- Assisting with Commercial Building Surveys, Schedule of Conditions, and Dilapidations assessments.
- Conducting measured building surveys using advanced electronic surveying/scanning software to generate accurate real-time floor plans.
Contract Administration & Design
- Assisting with the design, specification, and contract administration of refurbishment, repair, and planned maintenance projects.
- Contributing to Planning Applications and building control compliance tracking.
- Preparing Insurance Rebuilding and Reinstatement Cost Assessments (BCIS/SCSI guidelines).
- Undertaking Land Registry and boundary mapping surveys.
Client & Progress Management
- Drafting high-quality, technically accurate professional reports for private individuals, corporate clients, financial institutions, and solicitors.
- Managing client communications professionally, responding to enquiries, and updating the internal tracking systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying (ideally from an SCSI/RICS accredited course).
- Experience: Open to recent graduates, as well as those with 1–3 years of post-graduate experience actively working through their APC diary.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong IT literacy, including familiarity with AutoCAD and modern digital surveying equipment/apps.
- Knowledge: A solid foundation in construction technology, building pathology, and Irish Building Regulations.
- Driving License: A full, clean Irish/EU driving license and access to a car is essential for site visits across Dublin and surrounding counties.

Commitment to Learning: A clear drive to pursue and complete the APC process to become a Chartered Building Surveyor.
Attention to Detail: An analytical eye for spotting building defects, poor workmanship, and structural anomalies.
Good Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to write robust technical reports and communicate clearly with clients.
