Location: Crossmolina, Co. Mayo (Office-Based), with regular travel to Dublin/East and other CHS operational locations
Salary: €35,000 - €40,000 per annum

Churchfield Home Services is seeking a proactive, analytical and detail-focused Quality & Compliance Officer to join our QHSE function.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build a career across Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) within a growing organisation.
This is not a purely administrative QHSE role. A significant part of the position will involve getting out into the business and onto live project sites, reviewing how our systems and controls are working in practice and following actions through to effective closure.
Working closely with the QHSE Manager, you will develop practical experience across internal auditing, site assurance, ISO management systems, NCR/CAPA, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Support delivery of CHS's risk-based Internal Audit Programme across departments and operational functions.
- Prepare audit scopes, review evidence, interview process owners and document clear, evidence-based findings.
- Carry out QHSE site and field audits across CHS operations in both East and West regions.
- Review how quality, safety and environmental controls are operating on live projects.
- Sample areas including workmanship controls, RAMS, PPE, working at height, contractor compliance, housekeeping, waste management and required project records.
- Prepare clear audit and assurance reports and maintain accurate supporting evidence.
- Track NCRs, corrective actions and audit findings through to effective closure.
- Follow up outstanding actions, review submitted evidence and escalate overdue or ineffective actions where required.
- Support root cause analysis and identify recurring findings, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain appropriate audit, compliance and IMS records.
- Support preparation for ISO, SEAI and other internal or external audits.
- Contribute to Management Review, KPI and continual-improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams while maintaining the independence required of an assurance role.
What You'll Need
This is an early-career/developing QHSE role, so we're primarily looking for capability, attitude and potential rather than a long list of existing auditor qualifications.
We're looking for someone with:
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong analytical approach.
- Natural curiosity and the confidence to ask good questions.
- The ability to assess evidence objectively and distinguish fact from opinion.
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate with operatives, Supervisors, managers and other stakeholders.
- The ability to appropriately challenge something when it doesn't look right.
- Strong organisation and follow-through, particularly when tracking actions to completion.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- A willingness to spend significant time in operational and construction site environments.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in QHSE, auditing and management-system assurance.
- Good IT skills and confidence learning digital systems.
- Valid Safe Pass
- Full Category B driving licence and willingness to travel regularly as part of the role.
A relevant qualification in Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Previous experience in QHSE, auditing, construction, compliance or another relevant operational environment would also be advantageous but is not essential.
What We Offer
- Salary of €35,000–€40,000, depending on experience and capability.
- Practical experience in field auditing, NCR/CAPA, Root Cause Analysis and continual improvement.
- Development across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- A clear pathway towards independent audit competence and further professional development.
