We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our residents, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care needs within the Residential Care Setting.
The main focus for this position is to support our residents who need assistance at breakfast and lunch time,
Hours will vary but will primarily be from 9.00 am to 2pm but you may be asked to step in to assist in other shifts if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and support our residnets during breakfast and lunch
- Provide patient, respectful and dignified assistance with eating and drinking
- Encourage independence while offering appropiate support where required
- Monitor the resident during mealtimes and report any concerns regarding appetite,hydration or their wellbeing
- Ensure the residnets comfort and safety before,during,and after meals
- Maintain a warm, friendly, and respectful approach at all times
- Light cleaning after meals to ensure our residents are sitting in a clean comfortable environment
- Assist residents with any request they may have like toileting or assisting them to their room or day room
- Ensure cleanliness and safety within the nursing home, adhering to health and safety regulations and policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Candidate must be living in Ireland and hold a current work permit.
- Genuine interest and passion for caring for others to be interested in building a strong relationship with our residents.
- Excellent English
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in residential care is desirable but not essential
- Promoting independence, choice and ensuring respect ,dignity and privacy of our residents is maintained at all times.
- Have a professional friendly attitude
- Delivery of a high standard of individualized person centred care and following all policies and procedure's
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or caring role is desirable but not essential a caring attitude and willingness to learn are equally as important.
- Strong understanding of English language for effective communication.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team, demonstrating empathy and compassion towards our residents
Pay: From €15.00 per hour
