About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join a progressive commercial dairy farm in South Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled dairy farm professional looking to take on a leadership role and contribute to the day-to-day management of a successful dairy operation.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Farm Manager and be capable of running the farm with minimal supervision when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily milking and dairy herd management
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Grassland management and grazing planning
- Assisting with breeding and herd husbandry activities
- Tractor driving for topping and general farm duties
- Fencing and farm maintenance work
- Supporting the overall management and operation of the farm
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience working on a commercial dairy farm
- Strong milking and dairy herd management skills
- Experience in grassland management and pasture-based systems
- Competent tractor driving skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for daily farm operations
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
