Our client is a disruptive leader in the Irish packaging market, operating uniquely as a direct manufacturer rather than a traditional reseller through an exclusive partnership with one of the world's largest plastics providers. Backed by a premier industrial reputation and trusted by tier-1 global pharmaceutical, food, and logistics brands, we offer an unmatched end-to-end proposition. By combining high-performance materials—such as advanced pallet wrap, shrink wrap, and adhesive tapes—with cutting-edge machinery, we empower businesses to slash their high-volume packaging costs by up to 50% through innovative subscription and usage-based supply models.
We are seeking a driven, high-energy Sales Representative to rapidly expand our market share within the industrial packaging consumables and materials sector. This role is focused on high-volume, repeat-revenue material contracts, leveraging our direct-to-manufacturer pricing to outcompete standard local distributors. You will be instrumental in executing a proactive business development strategy, targeting operations, procurement, and warehouse logistics managers across Ireland's most active manufacturing and supply chain hubs. This position combines consultative, volume-based material sales with the unique ability to cross-sell world-class end-of-line packaging automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Market Development: Execute intensive direct outreach during the first 2–3 months, including cold calling and physical site visits, to establish a "who's who" listing of major industrial material users in Ireland.
- Consumables Account Acquisition: Drive new business revenue with a primary focus on high-volume packaging supplies, including stretch/pallet wrap, shrink wrap, technical adhesive tapes, strapping, and corrugated materials.
- Pitch Disruptive Supply Models: Introduce prospects to cost-saving commercial structures, including our unique monthly pallet-wrapping subscription services that substitute heavy upfront capital expenditure for bundled machinery and material solutions.
- Leverage Existing Engineering Networks: Capitalize on our established footprint (over 4,000 installed industrial lines) to cross-sell and up-sell high-margin material contracts to household pharma, food, and medical device accounts.
- Conduct Strategic Material Audits: Partner with clients on factory floors to evaluate their current wrap or film usage, demonstrating how our direct-to-manufacturer material grades can dramatically reduce per-unit costs.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with our internal technical engineering team to align a client's material specifications perfectly with their automated packaging machinery.
- Deliver Sustainability Consulting: Provide guidance on material optimization, helping clients navigate plastic usage reduction, transition to recyclable material grades, and minimize environmental impact.
- Manage Sales Pipeline: Handle a fast-paced 4-to-8-week sales cycle, maintaining clean documentation from initial prospecting through contract negotiation and closing via our internal CRM.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of proven sales experience within industrial packaging consumables, warehouse materials, or end-of-line supply sectors.
- Industry Domain Knowledge: Solid familiarity with standard industrial materials, specifically stretch film/pallet wrap, technical strapping, industrial tapes, and shrink wrap.
- Proven Drive & Character: A self-starter mindset with a clear motivation to learn and earn; someone who thrives in high-activity cold-outreach and "knocking on doors" to hunt for new accounts.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong competency in volume-based pricing structures, margin retention, contract negotiations, and identifying up-selling opportunities.
- Track Record: Demonstrated history of consistently hitting or exceeding new-business revenue targets through proactive territory management.
- Communication Skills: Ability to confidently engage and build rapport with multi-stakeholder decision-makers, ranging from warehouse operations staff and procurement officers to plant managers.
- Mobility: Full driving license and willingness to travel extensively to manufacturing and logistics parks across Ireland.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Network: Existing relationships or an active contact network within procurement or logistics departments across the Irish pharmaceutical, medtech, or food & beverage sectors.
- Machinery Familiarity: Basic understanding of how packaging materials interact with end-of-line equipment (such as turntable wrappers, shrink tunnels, or automatic strapping machines) to assist with cross-selling.
- Third-level qualification in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, or a related commercial discipline.
Benefits & Package:
- Competitive base salary ranging from €35,000 to €55,000 (depending on experience).
- Highly lucrative commission structure rewarding high performance on high-volume, recurring material contracts.
- Hybrid working arrangements balancing remote office flexibility with active client field travel.
- 25 days annual leave plus public holidays.
- Rapid career learning opportunity working directly beside business leadership in a highly agile, fast-decision-making commercial environment.
