The Catering Assistant plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the catering service, providing excellent customer service while supporting the kitchen and front-of-house teams. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring flexibility to work across different areas of the operation, including food preparation, food service, cash handling, cleaning and stock duties.
The successful candidate will work closely with both the Head Chef and General Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of a high-quality catering service.

Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service at all times.

Operate the cash register/POS system accurately, processing customer transactions and balancing tills as required.

Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers in line with company standards.

Assist the Chef with basic food preparation, plating and food presentation.

Replenish food counters, displays and grab-and-go items throughout service.

Prepare salads, sandwiches, breakfast items and other light food offerings as directed.

Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the catering operation.

Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and storage following FIFO procedures.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and presentation throughout the kitchen, service and dining areas.

Carry out cleaning duties, including workstations, equipment, counters and dining areas.

Follow all HACCP, food safety and health & safety procedures.

Assist with hospitality events, themed days and promotional activities.

Be flexible and willing to work across all areas of the catering operation to meet business needs.

Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the General Manager or Head Chef.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Previous experience in catering, hospitality or retail.

Experience operating a till or POS system and handling cash accurately.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
