US Bank Technology Services structure is designed to deliver effective technology solutions to the business. Its goal is to lead the development and delivery of technologies to enable effective delivery of the business defined strategic priorities and outcomes, whilst in parallel maintaining a robust and resilient set of underlying core technology platforms and supporting services.
The Head of Application Service and Finance Technology (ASFT) accountable portfolio of responsibilities will include but not limited to end-to-end technology services supporting the European Finance and application service management, and delivery for European-owned applications and oversight and driving the overall strategy for Technology Europe across governance, strategy execution, planning, communications, and cross-functional alignment.
This position ensures that technology platforms and services are stable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and continuously improved, while enabling transformation through disciplined delivery and strong stakeholder partnership.
The ASFT will require a sound knowledge of the business of the regulated financial service provider and the specific responsibilities that are to be undertaken along with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and legal environment appropriate to the function.
The Head of Application Service and Finance Technology will have oversight of:
Finance Technology Portfolio Leadership

Own the Europe Finance Technology portfolio (Run + Change), ensuring alignment to Finance strategy, regulatory needs, and enterprise technology standards.

Shape and maintain a multi-year roadmap covering Finance applications, integrations, data, controls, and architecture evolution.

Provide transparent portfolio reporting: progress, risks, dependencies, financials and outcomes.
Application Service Ownership Including:

Service availability, incident/problem management, change/release management, capacity, performance, resilience.

Service catalogues, Service Level Offering, Recovery Time and Reporting.

Vendor performance management where applicable.

Ensure capability with the Operational Control Framework across vulnerability resolution, operational resilience while still driving improvement through automation, standardisation, and reduction of technical debt
Strategy Execution

Support strategy planning and execution across the CIO department priorities

Provide comprehensive and timely information on the Bank’s technology systems to enable the Management Committees and Governance Committees to understand the overall technology operations of the Bank.

Drive cross-functional alignment across Technology, Finance, Risk/Compliance, Procurement, and Operations

Proactively monitor and report the impact of technology change and associated risks.

Identifies, responds to, and/or escalates risks as appropriate

Knowledge & Experience:
- 10 plus years of technology experience

10 plus years of management experience

BA/MBA in IT or relevant experience

A proven track record in a technology delivery and application service and stability

The competence to identify, evaluate and challenge technology services and oversee the management of all technology in a rigorous and structured manner
