Commercial Profitability Manager
Location: Co. Louth (with regular travel to company depots throughout Ireland)

About Us
We are a growing Irish business operating across the energy, fuel and agricultural sectors, supplying gas, solid fuels, timber and agricultural products through a network of depots across Ireland.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Sales Manager to join our senior management team. This is a strategic and hands-on role focused on improving profitability, increasing commercial performance, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, you will work closely with depot managers, sales teams, customer account managers, transport, finance and operations to identify opportunities to increase profitability while maintaining exceptional customer service.
You will analyse business performance, develop improvement strategies, monitor KPIs and implement initiatives that improve commercial results across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive profitability across all depots and business divisions.
- Analyse sales, margins, customer profitability and depot performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue while reducing unnecessary costs.
- Review pricing strategies and commercial agreements.
- Work alongside the sales team to maximise customer growth and retention.
- Monitor commercial KPIs and prepare regular management reports.
- Analyse trends and recommend actions to improve performance.
- Work with operations and transport teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support depot managers in achieving financial and operational targets.
- Identify underperforming products, customers or locations and develop action plans.
- Lead commercial improvement projects from planning through to implementation.
- Implement a driver’s training to create accounts managers
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and key customers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a commercial management, business improvement, operations, finance or profitability-focused role.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical skills.
- Experience interpreting financial reports and business performance data.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach.
- The ability to influence and motivate teams across multiple departments.
- A full, clean driving licence.
Experience within distribution, transport, logistics, energy, fuel, agriculture or wholesale industries would be a significant advantage.
