About Us
Hotel Killarney, a newly refurbished and award-winning 4-star hotel, is currently recruiting for an experienced, motivated, and dynamic Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Beverage leadership team and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant.
The Strawberry Tree is a key part of the Hotel Killarney experience, and this is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to lead the restaurant team, drive exceptional service standards, and create memorable dining experiences for our guests.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, maintaining high standards and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably.
The Role
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, ensuring consistently high standards of food service, presentation, guest experience and team performance.
You will lead, support and develop the restaurant team while working closely with the wider Food & Beverage Management team to maximise revenue, control costs and continuously improve the guest experience.
The successful candidate will be a confident and approachable leader who can motivate a team, remain calm under pressure and lead by example during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the daily operation of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, ensuring smooth, efficient service and consistently high standards
· Lead by example on the floor, managing, motivating, coaching and developing the restaurant team
· Manage staff rostering, training, performance and deployment, ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times
· Deliver exceptional guest service, handling feedback, queries and complaints professionally and effectively
· Work closely with the kitchen and wider Food & Beverage Management team to ensure excellent communication, service delivery and operational efficiency
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the restaurant
· Oversee stock control, ordering, wastage and cost management, supporting the achievement of departmental targets
· Drive revenue through upselling, promotions, events and seasonal offerings while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
· Ensure compliance with HACCP, health & safety, licensing requirements and all company policies and procedures
· Promote a positive, professional and team-focused working environment, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and delivering an outstanding dining experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager or senior supervisory role within a busy restaurant or hotel
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations and service standards
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of stock control, cost management and revenue generation
- A hands-on approach with a willingness to lead from the floor
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Hospitality or restaurant management qualifications are an advantage
