WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- EQF Level 6 (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Maximum 4 years of progressive, hands-on experience in maintaining industrial machinery (pumps, motors, fans, generators, turbines).
- Some prior experience leading small teams, mentoring juniors, or acting as a "lead hand" is highly desirable, but formal supervisory experience is not required.
- Solid capability in disassembling and reassembling complex rotating and stationary equipment, with rigging/lifting equipment and overhead crane operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, P&IDs, schematic drawings, and technical documentation.
- Willing to learn CMMS software for managing work orders and logging maintenance history; willingness to learn advanced reporting and analytical functions.
- Experience in operation and maintenance activities within an industrial environment (power generation, heavy industry, or oil & gas) is optional but valued.
- Basic knowledge of safe work practices, including equipment isolation, LOTO, and Permit to Work systems.
- Working knowledge of British Standards and European health & safety regulations.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Understanding of Portuguese is optional but valued.
- Availability and authorisation to work in Ireland is essential.

- Administrative aptitude – comfortable with report writing, data analysis, and performance tracking.
- Proficiency in the use and care of common and specialized maintenance tools.
WHAT ROLE WILL YOU PLAY
- Assist the Mechanical Supervisor in planning, coordinating, and overseeing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities for all mechanical systems and equipment.
- Supervise and mentor a small team of mechanical technicians and trainees under the guidance of the Senior Supervisor, gradually taking on greater leadership responsibility.
- Monitor operational parameters and participate in troubleshooting; learn to make autonomous decisions to resolve mechanical anomalies and minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to QAS and HSE procedures, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Support the management of tools, spare parts, and specialized maintenance equipment inventory and maintenance, learning the logistics of supply chain and stock control.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults by reviewing schematics and test results, gradually building the confidence to independently validate repair strategies.
- Respond to plant alarms and emergencies alongside the team, shadowing the Supervisor in directing restoration efforts.
- Learn to enforce Permit to Work systems and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures; assist in reviewing isolation permits and work documentation for completeness.
- Oversee and audit the logging of maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring data accuracy for operational reporting.
- Support the safe isolation and de-energization of equipment, championing safety culture within the team.
- Participate in the preparation and review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS), learning how to assess risk from a managerial perspective.
- Identify system anomalies, participate in root-cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, learning how to present data-driven recommendations to upper management.
Pay: €41,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
