Job Purpose
The QA Officer will be responsible for managing and supporting the company’s quality, compliance, audit, health and safety, and documentation systems.
This role is key to ensuring the business remains compliant with BRC, FSC, customer requirements, industry standards, local regulations, health and safety requirements, and fire safety obligations.
The successful candidate will also be part of the management team, attending weekly management meetings and reporting on key performance indicators across quality, compliance, returns, credit notes, health and safety, and other business areas.
Key Responsibilities
Quality, Compliance, and Audits
- Manage and support BRC audit preparation, attendance, and follow-up actions.
- Support FSC compliance and audit requirements.
- Maintain quality, technical, compliance, and audit documentation.
- Ensure procedures, policies, risk assessments, and records are kept up to date.
- Complete internal audits and support external audits from customers, certification bodies, and regulatory bodies.
Non-Conformances, Complaints, and Corrective Actions
- Manage NCRs, customer complaints, returns, and related corrective actions.
- Investigate issues and support root cause analysis.
- Track corrective actions through to completion.
- Report trends and recurring issues to management.
Customer and Supplier Compliance
- Complete customer questionnaires, product specifications, declarations, and compliance documents.
- Maintain supplier approval records and supplier documentation.
- Support customer and supplier quality requirements.
Inductions, Training, and Employee Records
- Prepare and complete employee inductions.
- Maintain training records and signed employee documentation.
- Support ongoing quality, hygiene, safety, and compliance training.
Health, Safety, Fire Safety, and Regulations
- Maintain health and safety records, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
- Support compliance with local regulations and industry requirements.
- Assist with fire safety records, inspections, permits, and contractor safety documentation.
- Support health and safety audits and inspections.
Site Standards and Housekeeping
- Monitor factory standards, hygiene, housekeeping, and cleaning records.
- Support pest control, maintenance, inspection, and site compliance records.
- Raise concerns where standards are not being met and follow up with the relevant department.
Management Team and KPI Reporting
- Attend weekly management meetings as part of the wider management team.
- Report on relevant KPIs, including returns, credit notes, complaints, NCRs, compliance, health and safety, audit actions, and site standards.
- Provide updates on outstanding actions, risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Work with department managers to improve performance, compliance, and operational standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Help improve systems, procedures, documentation, and working practices.
- Support the development of a strong quality and safety culture across the business.
- Contribute to the company’s long-term growth and improvement plans.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance, audits, administration, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of BRC, FSC, HACCP, health and safety, or similar standards would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with employees, managers, customers, suppliers, auditors, and contractors.
- Ability to manage follow-up actions and meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to grow with the company.

Pay: €27,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
