Dietitian
South Kildare West Wicklow Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT)
Permanent Contract - 35 hours per week
Location - Athy, Co. Kildare
Dietician Salary Scale €45,514 to €65,068 annually DOE
In line with the HSE National Programme for Progressing Disability Services , Kare is the Lead Agency for the provision of supports across South Kildare West Wicklow. The successful candidate will join an established Interdisciplinary CDNT, which reconfigured in 2014, providing quality, evidenced based and family-centred supports for children and young people aged 0-18 years, who present with complex needs associated with disability, within an interdisciplinary framework, to support their development to enable active participation in community life. The Dietitian assists in the functioning and organisation of the dietetic service.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement care plans, based on assessment of the service users' nutritional needs.

Contribute to the development and implementation of standards and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and healthcare colleagues in other services / settings, as appropriate.

Ensure professional standards are maintained in accordance with the requirements as set out by CORU.

Facilitate individual assessment, recommendations, reviews, education sessions with parents or other support staff.

Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
Requirements
- A CORU approved qualification in Human Nutrition and Dietetics

Previous dietetic experience is an advantage

Experience working with children/young people is desirable

Demonstrate a level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards

Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in partnership with others

Demonstrate the ability to lead on planning, organising and delivering services in an efficient, effective and resourceful manner, within a model of patient centred
- Must have a full, valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle

Must provide proof of current CORU or proof of eligibility to register
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
