Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a professional Full Time Rigid Driver to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate rigid delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the secure loading and unloading of cargo.
- Plan and execute optimal delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, schedules, and road closures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of delivery activities, including proof of delivery, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Conduct routine inspections of the delivery vehicle, report maintenance needs promptly, and keep the vehicle clean and organised.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies, including hours-of-service and cargo securement guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with customers during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, colleagues, and customers to update on delivery progress and address any issues or delays.
- Prioritise safety by following protocols, using personal protective equipment, and ensuring proper cargo handling.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and optimise routes, demonstrating strong time management skills.
- Solve problems proactively, handling unexpected challenges such as traffic delays, adverse weather, or vehicle breakdowns.
- Keep track of inventory, inspect delivered goods for quality, and report any discrepancies or damage.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices for continuous professional development.
Requirements:
- Hold the relevant Class of Licence and Driver CPC Card with relevant ticket
- Moffet experience essential
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Energetic & Physically Active due to the nature of the role.
- Good communicator with both team members and customers.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to manage time and complete multi tasks in line with timescales.
- Good knowledge of local road networks.
- Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic.
- A team player, well able to work effectively under pressure and who is looking for a challenge.
- Good working knowledge of manual handling.
