West Cork Handyman.ie is seeking a skilled and reliable tradesperson to join our growing team based here in Skibbereen.
TO WORK FOR THIS HANDYMAN COMPANY, YOU MUST BE A BUILDER/TRADESPERSON!!!
The ideal candidate will be well presented and have a high level of experience in the building trade, (an "all rounder") , with bathroom fitting, carpentry work,( including 1st and 2nd fixing) , plaster boarding, stud wall work, flooring, plumbing, and general building work under their belt.
They will also have the ability to adapt and overcome to most circumstances within the trade day to day. Bespoke, and custom-built fitted furniture experience would also be advantageous, ( some training can be provided).
You will be working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and professionalism on every job.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general handyman tasks, including property maintenance and repairs.
- Bathroom fitting: plumbing, tiling, and installing sanitary ware.
- Carpentry work, including 1st and 2nd fixing and custom-built furniture installations.
- Ensure all work meets high-quality standards with attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite, following health and safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly with clients and team members to ensure project success.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate a competent working knowledge of general construction health and safety practices.
- Proven experience in the building trade
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Take on jobs from start to finish.
- Installation of shelving units, curtain poles, and household fixtures.
- Installation and fitting of new kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, and custom-built storage units.
- Participation in full property refurbishments, renovations, and extension works.
- Carry out physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, manual handling, and repetitive movement, in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Travel daily to and from assigned sites throughout West Cork as instructed by the Employer.
- Provide a courteous and professional service at all times, especially when working in private homes and occupied premises.
- Maintain a clean and presentable personal appearance and ensure a respectful approach to clients and their property.
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety and that of colleagues, clients, and others on site, in line with company health and safety policies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Good communication skills and a positive work attitude.
- Exercise good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Adhere to all reasonable instructions issued by the Employer or their appointed representative.
- Comply with all statutory obligations and company policies relevant to the role including Health & Safety.
- Maintain a professional and polite demeaner at all times while representing the company.
- Good personal hygiene and personal appearance, and be respectful at all times while working at client occupied properties.
Tools, Equipment, and Transport:
- The Employee is required to supply and maintain their own set of tools and equipment necessary for the performance of their duties, including power tools and hand tools appropriate to the trade.
- The Employee must use their own vehicle for travel to and from job sites. The vehicle must be roadworthy, fully taxed, and insured for business use. Proof of insurance may be requested by the Employer.
