Operations Manager

About the Role
Circuit Transport & Logistics is looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our transport and warehouse operations.
We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership and enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is responsible for ensuring our warehouse and transport operations run efficiently, supporting our team, maintaining excellent customer service and working closely with the Managing Director to continuously improve the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse and transport operations.
- Supervise, support and motivate warehouse and operational staff, providing clear direction and leadership.
- Lead by example and promote a positive, safe and productive working environment.
- Plan and coordinate daily warehouse and transport activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Manage the day-to-day performance and scheduling of drivers, providing support and resolving operational issues.
- Recruit, onboard and support drivers and warehouse employees as the business grows.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, customers and suppliers.
- Attend operational meetings with customers and represent the business in a professional manner.
- Monitor warehouse performance, stock control and operational efficiency.
- Use Azyra to manage operational activity, reporting and customer requirements.
- Prepare operational, warehouse and customer reports, including KPI reporting where required.
- Liaise with customers to ensure a high level of service and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse staff and customers to ensure the smooth movement of goods.
- Plan operational resources to meet daily demands while maintaining high service levels.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Assist with other operational duties as required.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Transport Manager or Warehouse Manager role within the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, transport and logistics operations.
- Experience managing drivers and operational teams.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding and developing employees.
- Experience using transport or warehouse management systems; experience with Azyra would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience preparing operational, warehouse or customer reports.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
- Confident dealing directly with customers and leading operational review meetings.
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to support the operation whenever required.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
- Full clean driving licence preferred.
