The Bridal Outlet is looking for an experienced and practical Bridal Gown Preparation & Sewing Specialist to join our team.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role focused on the professional preparation, care and maintenance of our customer wedding gowns and designer sample collection.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Professionally steaming and pressing customer wedding gowns in preparation for collection
- Steaming and preparing new designer sample gowns when they arrive
- Checking incoming customer orders and samples for faults or damage
- Carrying out minor repairs to customer gowns and boutique samples
- Replacing missing or damaged buttons, hooks, eyes and loops
- Repairing loose stitching, seams and other minor garment faults
- Carrying out minor zip repairs and replacements where appropriate
- Maintaining our designer sample collection to a high standard
- Ensuring gowns are beautifully prepared and presented for appointments and collections
- Keeping the gown preparation and stock area organised
What We're Looking For
- Confident and experienced in the use of an industrial sewing machine – essential
- Strong hand-sewing skills
- Previous experience in sewing, dressmaking, tailoring, alterations or garment production
- Good knowledge of garment construction
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working with delicate fabrics and detailed garments
- A careful, methodical approach to work
- Ability to work independently and manage a workload
Previous experience with bridalwear, occasionwear or luxury garments would be an advantage, but is not essential for someone with strong sewing and garment-care experience.
Please Note
This is a hands-on and physically demanding role. Wedding gowns can be large and heavy, with multiple layers of fabric. Applicants must be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting, handling, steaming and pressing large bridal gowns.
This is not a bridal sales position and does not involve carrying out full bridal alterations. The role is focused on gown preparation, steaming, pressing, garment care and minor repairs.
Hours: 16–20 hours per week
Schedule: Part-time morning/daytime hours available by agreement
Pay: €16–€18 per hour, depending on experience
