Job Summary:
The Early Years Educator supports the delivery of Childcare services within YMCA Dublin.
The role involves planning and providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in line
with Aistear and Siolta curriculum frameworks.
Reporting to:
Childcare Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing a curriculum in line with the National Curriculum frameworks Aistear
and Siolta
- Ensuring the health and safety of the children in your care
- Create a safe, clean and secure environment ensuring compliance with all Childcare
Regulations and Child Safeguarding Policies
- Monitor and observe the children’s developmental needs
- Ensuring accurate and detailed observation records are kept
- Work as part of a team to ensure a warm and welcoming child centered environment.
- Work in partnership with parents to create links between the home and childcare
service
- To act as a positive role model for the children, colleagues, students and visitors
- To act as a Key Worker with specific children
- To participate in staff meetings, training and Continuous professional development
- To maintain confidentiality at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum QQI Level 5 in Childcare or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience in the childcare sector
Desirable Experience:
- QQI Level 6 in Childcare (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta frameworks
