Job Description:
Owing to continued expansion, The Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney, home of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, and other premium spirits, is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim. This ideal candidate will be able to work well as part of a team and will demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiative. They will demonstrate flexibility and strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving. They will have an ability to multi-task.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and carrying out warehouse operational tasks to support the movement, storage and control of goods within the warehouse and yard. They will ensure safe, accurate and efficient handling of stock across all inbound, outbound and storage activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operations
· Move pallets and stock between warehouse locations and yard areas
· Place stock into designated storage racking locations
· Retrieve stock for picking, dispatch, and staging areas
· Conduct safe handling of all palletised goods
Order Picking & Packing
· Pick orders accurately according to picking lists or system instructions
· Pack and prepare goods for dispatch
· Ensure correct quantities and product types are selected
· Stage completed orders in designated dispatch areas
Goods Inward Processing
· Receive incoming deliveries and unload vehicles safely
· Check goods against delivery documentation
· Identify and report discrepancies, damage, or missing items
· Allocate received goods to correct warehouse locations
Warehouse Maintenance
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of warehouse areas
· Ensure racking and storage areas are kept orderly
· Support waste removal and general housekeeping tasks
· Maintain clear access routes for operational safety
Operational Support
· Support other warehouse operatives with workload as required
- Assist with dispatch, staging, or returns processing during peak activity
· Follow instructions from management to support workflow
· Contribute to smooth daily warehouse operations
Safety Compliance
· Operate forklifts in accordance with site safety procedures
· Carry out daily equipment checks prior to use
· Report equipment faults or safety hazards immediately
· Follow all manual handling and site safety rules
Skills and Qualifications:
· At minimum one years’ experience in a warehouse operative role
· Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
· Ability to work with all levels of staff and as part of a team
· A demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
· Forklift license
· Full and clean driver’s license essential
