Are you a sustainability professional who can bring the subject to life in a classroom? Hartley People Training is building a panel of tutors to deliver QQI-certified environmental sustainability programmes, online and in person in Dublin.
About Hartley People Training
Hartley People Training has been delivering programmes since 2001, working with learners across a wide range of industries and backgrounds, including ETB-funded and commercial provision throughout Ireland. Our mission is practical: training that gives individuals and organisations skills they can use, delivered by tutors who know their subject from the inside. We see learning as a lifelong process, and we build long-term relationships with our learners, clients and tutor panel on that basis.
The programmes
You will deliver one or more of the following QQI programmes, depending on your expertise and availability:
– Environmental Sustainability in the Workplace - QQI Level 5 (5S21793)
– Environmental Sustainability Awareness - QQI Level 4 (4S21809)
– Sustainable Supply Chain Procurement - QQI Level 5 (5S22199)
– Resource Efficiency for a Sustainable Workplace - QQI Level 5 (5S21997)
The role
Our tutors manage the classroom, deliver the programme content and prepare learners for assessment, running assessment events in line with QQI requirements. You will take an assigned group of learners from induction through to certification, supported by our coordination team, our training management system and Moodle.
– Develop learning materials and classroom procedures before the course starts.
– Deliver engaging sessions online and/or in person to the agreed training plan.
– Support learners one-to-one through course content and assessment preparation.
– Evaluate and assess learner progress and assignments, and run assessment events to QQI requirements.
– Keep attendance and course records up to date and communicate regularly with your course coordinator.
What you will need
– A qualification in a relevant discipline (environmental science, sustainability, engineering, supply chain, energy management or similar) at least one NFQ level above the award you deliver - Level 6 or higher for these programmes.
– A recognised Train-the-Trainer or equivalent pedagogical qualification at Level 6 (minimum 110 hours of learning).
– At least 2 years' teaching or instructional experience since completing your pedagogical qualification.
– At least 2 years' recent and relevant industry experience in sustainability, environmental management, procurement or a related field.
– A track record of supporting a class through to certification with QQI or an equivalent awarding body.
– Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to supporting and developing others.
Good to have
– Experience delivering and marking through Moodle or another virtual learning environment.
– Experience of ETB-funded delivery.
