- Install and repair domestic plumbing systems, including hot and cold-water supply systems, sanitary ware (toilets, showers, basins, baths), heating systems(radiators, pipework – gas/oil if certified), and drainage/vent systems.
- Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and general plumbing faults.
- Carry out first- and second-fix plumbing on new builds and extensions.
- Liaise with homeowners, tenants, contractors, and site managers.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Irish standards, including Building Regulations(TGD Part G – Hygiene, Part L – Conservation of Fuel & Energy) and Irish Water by-laws.
- Keep accurate records of work carried out.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols and safe work practices.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (SOLAS / QQI Level 6) or equivalent recognised qualification.- Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate.
- Confined Space Training and Working at Heights (advantageous).
- Gas Installer Certification (RGI) – desirable but not essential.
- Full,clean Category B driving licence (required).
Experience
Minimum2–3 years’ experience in a domestic plumbing environment (post-apprenticeship).- Experience in both occupied and unoccupied properties.
- Experience in fault-finding and emergency repair work (advantageous).
