Pastures New Accommodation is a facilities management company specialising in the establishment and operation of accommodation centres. We work with clients in both the private and public sector.
Our public sector work is focused on the provision of accommodation for international protection applicants (IPs) in Ireland. We are committed to providing a safe, secure and dignified space for IPs to help them start to rebuild their lives and integrate into a new society. Our accommodations offer a range of services including language and cultural support, access to education and job training, and mental health and well-being resources.
The Pastures New operational management approach is person-centred. We focus on developing strong relationships with our residents, helping them to realise their individual needs, aspirations and goals. Fundamentally we work with IPs to help them achieve longer-term stability and success in Ireland.
Job objectives:
The Reception Officer will be responsible for providing practical and emotional support for individuals who are accessing Pastures New Accommodation facilities. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in partnership with statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties below are illustrative, and not exhaustive, and are subject to change in line with priority needs of protection applicants:
- Establish trusting and professional relationships with residents to encourage engagement with the service.
- Carry out ongoing assessment and review of residents, including psychosocial needs; (i.e general and mental health).
- Manage and prioritise own caseload and work with flexibility and initiative.
- Develop and implement integration plans for residents, where appropriate
- Liaise appropriately with the HSE and other external professional agencies to assist residents in accessing health, support and entitlement services.
- Provide information on local and community services to promote social activity and engagement.
- Advocate and refer residents to appropriate services, based on their individual needs.
- Report any concerns or issues to the management team, regarding residents needs or behaviours.
- To champion residents at managerial level ensuring they are represented in all discussions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping, incident report writing when necessary.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures including but not limited to child safeguarding, resident welfare and Health and Safety.
- Implement all organisational procedures and policies including health and safety and child protection guidelines.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends
Requirements/Qualifications:
- A degree (Level 7 minimum) qualification in Social Care, Counselling, Community Development, Social Work or similar.
- 2+ years professional experience in a similar role.
- An understanding and knowledge of the asylum process in Ireland and the integration of migrants.
- Ability to work on own initiative and self-motivation.
- Full Clean Driving licence and willing to work across multiple locations
- Garda Vetting Clearance
