Sheehy Motor Group is currently welcoming applications for the role of Parts Delivery Driver working primarily out of our dealership in Carlow. Responsible for ensuring parts orders are delivered in a timely manner. You will represent the company in a professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction at all times, as well as being a reliable team player with a flexible approach to working within a busy environment. The successful candidate will also be provided with training in all aspects of the parts process.
This is a demanding position, and the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be process-driven.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Complete on-time delivery of goods efficiently and accurately
- Loading and unloading of the Parts van
- To deliver from large pallets to individual boxes in a safe and timely fashion
- Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction at all times
- Complete necessary paperwork (signed delivery documentation, reports, etc. as required)
- To carry out all tasks as requested in a competent and diligent manner
- Maintain the security of the delivery van while in your custody, including personal effects and contents, by locking the van when left unattended.
- Drive in a safe and considerate manner at all times.
- Work carefully to avoid accidental damage to the vehicle and components during work activities
- Participate in ongoing training in order to build the knowledge and skills to become familiar with all aspects of the parts process and computer systems
- Work as part of a large team to achieve company and departmental targets.
- Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are achieved within the parts department.
- Communicate and build a rapport with other departments and stakeholders
- Maintain and build the customer database through telephone calls and planned visits.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Motor industry knowledge is desirable but not essential.
- A high level of IT/computer skills and numeracy is required.
- Prior driving experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to work to high standards.
- Be diligent, with a flexible approach
- Have the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
- Be motivated and energetic
- Possess a strong desire to succeed in a targeted & competitive environment
- Can clearly demonstrate a strong work ethic with excellent organisational skills
- Warm and friendly personality portraying a professional and corporate image both in-person and over the phone
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Competencies
- Be fluent in verbal and written English.
- Minimum of 1/2 years' prior Motor Industry experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of ADP Kerridge would be a distinct advantage
- Full, clean driving licence
