To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 5 years' senior management experience within the homecare, healthcare or community care sector.
- A proven track record of business development, service growth and successfully expanding care services.
- Strong, established relationships with HSE services, healthcare professionals, hospital discharge teams, GPs and other referral partners.
- Demonstrable experience leading operational teams and delivering high-quality, compliant care services.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify, secure and develop new business opportunities.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel across the region as required.
About the Role
Gentle Hands Homecare is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Operations to lead and grow our Cork branch.
This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to shape the continued growth and success of an established homecare provider. You will be responsible for leading operational performance, driving business development, strengthening key healthcare partnerships and ensuring the delivery of outstanding, person-centred care.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of branch operations while identifying opportunities to expand services, improve operational efficiency and enhance the experience of both clients and employees.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Cork branch, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of homecare services.
- Drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of care, quality and compliance.
- Monitor service performance and implement improvements to maximise efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory standards and company policies.
Business Development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to support sustainable growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with HSE services, hospitals, healthcare professionals, GPs, community organisations and referral partners.
- Promote Gentle Hands Homecare within the healthcare community, representing the organisation at networking events and stakeholder meetings.
- Develop strategies to increase referrals, expand service provision and strengthen market presence.
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, inspire and develop operational teams to deliver exceptional standards of care.
- Foster a positive, high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Support recruitment, retention and professional development initiatives.
- Provide coaching, guidance and performance management to ensure teams achieve operational objectives.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all services are delivered in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Maintain robust quality assurance processes and oversee continuous service improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators and produce operational reports for senior leadership.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and excellence.
