Payroll Accounts Assistant - Hotel Killarney
Hotel Killarney is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a busy hospitality environment, with payroll forming the core responsibility of the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees, while also supporting the Finance Department with supplier payments, account reconciliations, and a range of additional ad hoc finance administration duties.

This is a part-time position of approximately 24 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll (Primary Responsibility)
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
- Ensure payroll information is accurately recorded, validated, and processed within required deadlines.
- Process new starters, leavers, payroll amendments, and employee record updates.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with Revenue and employment legislation requirements.
- Prepare and process payments to third parties, including pension providers and statutory bodies.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with payroll reporting and month-end procedures.
- Respond to employee and management payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide supporting documentation when required.
Finance & Accounts Support
- Process supplier invoices and prepare supplier payments accurately and on time.
- Assist with account reconciliations and general accounts administration duties.
- Produce payroll and financial reports using Excel as required.
- Support the Finance Department with month-end activities and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Carry out additional ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a payroll-focused role, with exposure to accounts administration desirable.
- Payroll qualification (IPASS or similar) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, payroll legislation, and statutory deductions.
- Experience processing payroll from start to finish with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, confidential, and trustworthy approach to handling sensitive information.
- Experience within the hospitality sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
