About the Role
Are you a people person with a passion for great food and even better service? We are looking for an energetic Deli & Shop Assistant to join our team at Daybreak Oakview, Carlow.
In this role, you’ll be the face of our store. Whether you’re crafting the perfect breakfast roll at the deli counter or helping a regular find exactly what they need, you’ll be playing a vital part in keeping our community fueled and happy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deli Excellence: Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold food (sandwiches, wraps, breakfast items) while maintaining strict food safety standards.
- Customer Service: Provide a fast, friendly, and efficient service at the till and on the shop floor.
- Merchandising: Keep shelves stocked, rotated (FIFO), and looking sharp.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the deli and shop floor meet HACCP and health and safety regulations.
- Operations: Assist with deliveries, labeling, and ensuring all pricing is accurate.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in a deli, café, or retail environment is a big plus, but we provide full training for the right candidate!
- The "Can-Do" Attitude: You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can keep a smile on your face during the morning rush.
- Reliability: You are punctual and take pride in being a dependable member of a small team.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of HACCP/Food Safety is an advantage.

Pay: €14.15-€14.50 per hour

- Carlow, County Carlow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

- Grocery/Convenience Store: 1 year (required)
