JM Energy Savings is a well-established, family-run renewable energy company based in West Cork, operating since 2008. We deliver high-quality solar PV installations for homes, farms, and businesses across Munster and pride ourselves on workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Due to continued growth, we are expanding our installation team and are looking for an experienced Solar PV Roofer / Installer. For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to leading your own roofing/installation team.
The Role
You will work as part of our solar installation team, carrying out roof-based solar PV installations on residential, agricultural, and commercial properties across Munster. This is a hands-on role requiring strong roofing skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing solar PV panels and mounting systems on various roof types (slate, tile, metal, and agri roofs)
- Erecting and dismantling aluminium scaffolding towers
- Ensuring all works comply with building regulations, SEAI requirements, and JM Energy Savings H&S standards
- Completing installations to a high standard and within agreed timelines
- Communicating professionally with homeowners regarding works being carried out
- Capturing and submitting required site photographs and project information
- Working closely with electricians and project managers to ensure smooth installations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ roofing experience on a range of roof types
- At least 1 year’s experience installing solar PV systems
- Roofing or carpentry qualification an advantage but not essential
- Strong work ethic with pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to work safely at heights and follow H&S procedures
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Self-motivated, reliable, and keen to progress
