About the Role
Binotto Ireland & Curragh Commercials require a manager to run our commercial garage & hydraulics Dept. We are currently in the process of investing in our facility and would like to take this opportunity to bring in a new person to manage this place. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Garage Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy commercial garage in Kildare Town. The role will focus on managing a workshop servicing HGV and LGV vehicles, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics and wet kit systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role with significant opportunity to grow and develop the business, including input into budgeting, systems development, and future expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of a busy commercial garage
- Manage and support a team of workshop staff
- Ensure high standards of maintenance, repair, and safety compliance
- Coordinate servicing and repairs for HGV and LGV fleets
- Provide technical support, particularly in hydraulics and wet kits
- Manage workflow, scheduling, and job prioritisation
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities
- Assist in budget management and cost control
- Contribute to the development of a new garage management system
- Identify opportunities to expand services and improve efficiency
- Support the wider operations of the business as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in a commercial garage environment
- Strong background in hydraulics and wet kits
- Experience with HGV and LGV maintenance
- Previous management or supervisory experience (or ready to step up into management)
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Overview of role:
The introduction of a new garage system, manage mechanics and organise daily roles and maintenance schedules. Design and upscale premises. Liaise with customers. Work closely with parts manager. Assist M.D in the change of direction of the business.
