As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget. You will act as the key point of contact between clients, subcontractors, project teams and senior management, coordinating all contractual, commercial and operational aspects of project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance. The role will require regular travel to project sites across Ireland and Europe as required to support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight.

Responsibilities-
Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects from contract award through to completion and final handover.

Oversee the delivery of mechanical and piping projects to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget.

Coordinate project teams, site management, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project execution across multiple sites.

Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with programme schedules, budgets, specifications, contractual requirements and client expectations.

Monitor project performance and identify potential risks, delays or issues, implementing corrective actions where required.

Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead and participate in client meetings, progress reviews, commercial discussions and project coordination meetings.

Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with company health, safety and environmental procedures and site-specific requirements.

Review and administer contract terms, ensuring obligations, deliverables and commercial requirements are clearly understood and achieved.

Manage contractual matters including variations, claims, change management and dispute resolution where required.

Coordinate labour, materials, plant and equipment requirements to support project delivery and contractual commitments.

Support procurement activities, subcontractor management and supplier coordination to ensure project requirements are met.

Maintain accurate project records including progress reports, commercial reports, contractual documentation and change management records.

Monitor project costs, variations, resource utilisation and commercial performance, providing regular updates to senior management.

Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout all phases of the project.

Manage and coordinate project commissioning, testing and handover activities.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, operational efficiency and enhanced project performance.
Requirements-
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar role within the mechanical, piping, construction or M&E sectors.

Strong understanding of mechanical installations, pipework systems, fabrication and construction project delivery.

Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial practices and contractual obligations within construction environments.

Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice within construction environments.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts and project documentation.

Strong commercial awareness with experience monitoring project budgets, schedules, variations and resources.

Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities with the confidence to lead client interactions and project teams.

Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
