We’re seeking a full-time farm assistant to join our 250-cow, spring-calving dairy herd in Caherlistrane, Co. Galway. This is a grass-based, high-performing system with all young stock and machinery work contracted out.

- Located 8km from Headford and 15km from Tuam county Galway
Our goal is to utilise as much grass as possible in a low input, medium output system that is respectful to both our animals and environment while maximising profitability and labour efficiency through simplicity.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Milking (rotary parlour)
- Animal husbandry (calf care, health, breeding tasks)
- General farm maintenance and hygiene
Work Schedule:
- Calving Season (Feb–Apr): 6 days/week
- May–Dec: 4 days/week
- January: ~3 hours/day only with weekends off
- All Sundays Off outside calving + 4 weeks paid annual leave
Ideal Candidate:
- Positive attitude and genuine interest in dairy farming
- No experience required – full training provided
- Good communicator and team player
- Willing to work hard and enjoy the job
- Enjoys working with animals
