Start Your Career as a Maintenance Fitter
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn while completing a nationally recognised apprenticeship leading to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Maintenance Fitting.
As an apprentice, you will receive structured on-the-job training alongside experienced maintenance fitters and attend the required off-the-job training phases. Throughout the four-year programme, you will develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and experience needed to become a fully qualified Maintenance Fitter.

What You’ll Learn
Working under the guidance of experienced maintenance fitters, you will:
- Assist in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of production machinery and plant equipment.
- Learn to dismantle, repair, manufacture and install mechanical components.
- Under supervision, gain experience working with steam, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Assist in maintaining conveyors, pumps, valves, mixers, elevators, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
- Develop fabrication skills using equipment such as press brakes, guillotines, grinders and welding equipment.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
- Monitor equipment performance using modern maintenance techniques and a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work safely at all times and comply with all company health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake additional duties as required.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements for a SOLAS apprenticeship, including:
- Five passes in the Leaving Certificate at O6 or H7 or higher, including Mathematics, or an approved equivalent qualification.
- An approved equivalent qualification or alternative entry route recognised by SOLAS.
- Successfully pass theSOLAS TSS-8i-F4/V2 Colour Vision Test.
- Be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland for the duration of the apprenticeship.
