Notetaker
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Student Notetaker. This role involves not only taking accurate and comprehensive notes for a student during lectures and seminars but also providing necessary care support to ensure the student’s well-being and academic success in the Dublin city area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend all assigned lectures, seminars, and classes with the student.
- Take detailed and accurate notes during lectures, including key points, discussions, and any visual information presented.
- Transcribe notes in a clear and organised manner, ensuring readability and completeness.
- Review and edit notes as necessary to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Distribute notes to the student promptly after each session.
- Assist with care support tasks, which may include mobility assistance, organisation of study materials, and other daily activities.
- Provide support to the student during breaks and transitions between classes.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle all information with discretion.
- Utilise various note-taking tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a notetaker, or in a similar role, is preferred.
- Experience in providing care support or working with individuals with special needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent listening and typing skills.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficiency with note-taking tools and software (e.g., Microsoft OneNote, Evernote, Google Docs).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Empathy, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with shorthand or speedwriting.
- Familiarity with academic terminology and lecture formats.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and environments.
Working Conditions:
- The notetaker will be required to attend classes and lectures at various locations within the Dublin city area.
- Flexibility in working hours is necessary to match the student's class schedule.
- Reliable transportation to and from lecture locations is required.
