We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Assistant Construction Project Manager & Commercial Coordinator to support the successful delivery of construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will assist in managing project programmes, monitoring costs, coordinating project information, and supporting project teams. Strong IT skills are essential, including the ability to utilise modern digital tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms to improve project efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Support
· Assist Project Managers with the planning and delivery of construction projects.
· Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
· Support project meetings and maintain accurate records of actions and decisions.
· Monitor project progress and assist in resolving issues that may impact delivery.
· Prepare project reports and presentations for management and clients.
Cost Control & Commercial Support
· Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenditure.
· Track costs against approved budgets and report variances.
· Support the preparation of valuations, variations, procurement schedules, and cost reports.
· Assist with subcontractor administration and commercial documentation.
· Maintain accurate project cost records and financial reporting systems.
Construction Programming & Planning
· Assist in developing and updating project programmes.
· Monitor progress against key milestones and programme targets.
· Support the identification of potential delays and assist in implementing corrective actions.
· Coordinate project information to ensure programme accuracy.
· Produce progress updates and planning reports.
Digital Construction & AI Support
· Maintain project management systems and digital reporting platforms.
· Prepare dashboards, spreadsheets, and performance reports.
· Utilise AI tools to support project administration, reporting, document management, scheduling, and data analysis.
· Assist with the implementation of digital construction technologies and process improvements.
· Support BIM and cloud-based project collaboration platforms where applicable.
Essential Requirements
· Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
· 2–5 years’ experience within the construction industry.
· Understanding of construction project delivery processes.
· Knowledge of project cost control and construction planning principles.
· Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management software.
· Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Full driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
· Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar planning software.
· Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar technologies.
· Knowledge of Power BI or data reporting platforms.
· Familiarity with BIM and digital construction processes.
· Experience in commercial projects.
