We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Category & Insights Manager to join our team at Green Isle Foods. The role will be based in our office in Naas, Kildare, with a hybrid working arrangement (two days in the office and three days working remotely) and flexible working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Brand and Account Management teams to help deliver the annual volume, profit and market share targets within the ROI markets, as defined in the annual budget.
- Continually review customer category performance and coordinate range reviews, working closely with the Account Manager; analyse key data and devise formal recommendations in the form of a presentation, covering range (including product mix and distribution), pricing, promotions and merchandising, to maximise sales and profit opportunities for Green Isle and the retailer.
- Continually review customer category performance and partner closely with the Account Manager to plan and deliver range reviews. Analyse category and customer performance data to develop evidence-based recommendations and present proposals on product range (including assortment and distribution), pricing, promotional activity and merchandising. Identify opportunities to optimise category performance and maximise sales and profitability for both Green Isle and the retailer.
- Work with the Marketing department to devise trade marketing plans to support our product portfolios.
- Coordinate all category projects and store trials, managing each project through to completion and taking responsibility for reporting results post-implementation.
- Develop strong customer relationships through both formal business review meetings and informal contact and discussion.
- Ensure that Green Isle Foods’ Category Management credentials are continually communicated to buying teams.
- Make recommendations to retailers on space planning, providing insight and a clear rationale for the optimum layout. Coordinate the creation of category planograms for identified strategically important retailers.
- Develop and apply the business’s understanding of shopper buying habits, demographics and customer diagnostics to retailer and internal category plans.
- Evaluate competitor threats by monitoring, assessing and identifying competitor developments and risks.
- Educate the wider team on new product launches and competitor products, including through sampling.
- Account/Joint Business Plans: work with the Sales team to develop annual account plans for key customers.
- Working with Marketing, develop launch rationales for new and extended ranges in the form of a presentation. Collaborate cross-functionally with the Innovation and Marketing teams to execute growth opportunities and identify and size category opportunities.
- Prepare and present market updates for the monthly Business Review.
- Prepare and deliver market insights and performance updates as part of the monthly Business Review, highlighting key trends, opportunities and risks.
- Play a key role in account management teams to ensure optimum communication across the business.
- Discover and share wider macroeconomic and market trends. Continuously monitor market, consumer and competitor trends to identify emerging opportunities and risks, using insight-led analysis to inform category strategies and deliver commercial growth.
- Create a motivated team through clear employee engagement, while supporting employee development through effective succession plans and learning and development programmes. Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team through effective employee engagement, coaching, and learning and development initiatives.
Experience Required
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A third-level degree in Marketing or a relevant discipline is an advantage.
- Expertise in using category software, e.g. Kantar by Numerator, EYC and Dunnhumby.
- Skilled in managing data agencies and the category budget.
- A full, clean driving license is beneficial.
