This role offers the opportunity to work within an established site team on large-scale construction projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture on site, ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and in line with company and statutory requirements.
Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Lead operatives, direct labour, and subcontractors to achieve programme targets and maintain productivity across assigned work areas.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality standards.
Monitor progress on site and report any issues, delays, or resource requirements to the Site Manager or Site Engineer.
Promote high standards of workmanship and ensure a proactive approach to problem-solving on site.
Plan and coordinate daily work activities, ensuring labour, plant, materials, and equipment are effectively utilised.
Allocate tasks and provide clear direction to site operatives and subcontractors.
Monitor workforce productivity and support the achievement of programme milestones.
Ensure materials and equipment are available and used efficiently to support planned activities.
Assist with site logistics and the coordination of deliveries and work areas.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and company quality procedures.
Carry out routine quality checks and inspections within areas of responsibility.
Support Site Engineers and site management teams in implementing quality control measures and inspection requirements.
Identify and report defects, non-conformances, and quality concerns, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Promote a right-first-time approach to construction activities.
Act as the primary point of contact for operatives and subcontractors within assigned work areas.
Maintain effective communication with Site Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive working environment on site.
Support the training, mentoring, and development of operatives and junior personnel.
Promote company values, professionalism, and high-performance standards across the workforce.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, labour allocation, plant utilisation, and site progress.
Assist with the preparation of daily reports and progress updates for site management.
Monitor work activities against programme requirements and highlight any risks or constraints.
Support the implementation of project controls and company procedures within assigned work areas.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
