Building Envelope Technologies (BET) is one of Ireland’s leading specialists in building performance, energy efficiency and compliance.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Domestic BER Assessor to join our Sustainability team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an SEAI-registered Domestic BER Assessor who wants to develop their career further. Whether your experience is mainly with one-off homes or larger residential developments, we would like to hear from you.
For the right candidate, BET will also provide funded training and support to progress towards Non-Domestic BER Assessor status.
The Role
As a Domestic BER Assessor, you will:
- Carry out Domestic BER assessments in accordance with SEAI requirements.
- Complete site surveys for one-off residential properties and larger developments.
- Prepare accurate BER calculations, assessments and reports.
- Review drawings, specifications and construction details.
- Carry out U-value calculations and condensation risk analysis where required.
- Assess compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.
- Provide clients with professional advice on energy performance and compliance.
- Work closely with our wider Sustainability and Building Performance teams.
- Have the opportunity to progress into Non-Domestic BER assessments.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Currently registered with SEAI as a Domestic BER Assessor.
- Relevant Level 6 or higher qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of residential construction and building energy performance.
- Strong IT skills, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous professional experience completing Domestic BER assessments.
- Experience working on residential developments or one-off properties.
- Knowledge of TGD Part L and Part F / NZEB requirements.
- Experience with Non-Domestic BER assessments is an advantage but not essential.
