Job Title: Strategic Buyer - Capex
Location: Cork, Ireland
Contract: Full-time, 24-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week onsite

We have an opportunity to join an exciting and innovative organisation we partner with as a Strategic Buyer. This role sits within a dynamic procurement environment, focused on delivering both operational and strategic sourcing across Capex categories.
You will work closely with engineering, stakeholders and global teams to drive sourcing activity, deliver savings and ensure high-quality execution across multiple projects.

What you will be doing
As the Strategic Buyer, your responsibilities will include:

Delivering operational and strategic sourcing across Capex categories, meeting key performance indicators for savings, quality and delivery

Partnering with business users and engineering teams to define requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies

Managing end-to-end sourcing activity, including sourcing plans, statement of work development, supplier engagement and technical/commercial evaluation

Supporting supplier negotiations and contract development in line with client policies and governance

Building strong supplier relationships to drive long-term value, innovation and risk mitigation

Identifying and delivering sourcing opportunities through spend analysis, supplier rationalisation, preferred supplier programmes, catalogue development and savings initiatives

Conducting market and risk analysis to inform sourcing strategies, while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements

Maintaining high-quality documentation, leveraging sourcing tools effectively, contributing to continuous improvement and team collaboration
What we are looking for
We are keen to hear from commercially aware sourcing and procurement professionals with Capex experience and a strong delivery focus.
Essential:

Experience in sourcing and procurement within Capex categories or in project/programme management

Experience managing sourcing projects end to end, including sourcing plan development and execution

Strong understanding of RFx processes, supplier evaluation and sourcing methodologies

Experience in stakeholder management within cross-functional, global or regional teams

Knowledge of negotiation approaches and contract development

Understanding of supplier markets within the consumer goods (FMCG) industry

Strong analytical capability, including advanced MS Excel skills

Experience using ERP and sourcing tools such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa or similar platforms

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (minimum C1 level)

Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented approach
